Abstract

Among the archetypes of medical books written in Anatolia in the 16th century Dürr-i Manzûm of Nidâî -poet and physician lived in the 16th century- draws attention. As is evident from its name, the work is written in verses and it has 721 couplets. There is an information in references that Garseddin-zâde who lived in the same period with Nidâî and was the physician of Selim II likewise, had also a medical book written in verses. The aim of this study is to discuss whether Manzûme at 06 Mil Yz A 787/3 which was ascribed to Garseddin-zâde is his or not and then with evidences determining whom the book belongs to. In this study, firstly identified medical books are explained and given information about Nidâî's book. Afterwards it is revealed that there are uniformities and differences in Manzûme to Garseddin-zâde and Nidâî's Dürr-i Manzûm. In conclusion, identified detections are commented.
