Abstract

With the increase of knowledge, scientific discoveries and inventions being made, there is a need for terminologising new concepts. Terminologisation, in other words term formation, should be a conscious activity, since if, unlike words whose origin is almost impossible to trace back, terms are the result of deliberate and conscious creations, they will be systematic in relation to other terms rather than arbitrary. This article deals both with monolingual term formation methods as well as with translation-oriented term formation methods
