Abstract

Today, Balıkesir Yörük clans have a settled order of life. These clans have forgotten to describe themselves with their Oguz clan names and started to call themselves with tribe names such as "Karakeçili, Kızılkeçili, Ahmetli, Kılaz, Kubaş, Hardal, Yüncü and Yaycı Bedir". The most significant feature of Balıkesir Yörük accents are different forms used in the Present Continuous Tense. Basically these forms sprang up from "yoru-, Verb + Ip + yat- and Verb + Ip + var-" and these forms went through changes among themselves. Yoruks, which consist the fourth group of accent in the borders of Balıkesir with Türkmens, Manavs and Cepnis, are close to Manavs in terms of accent
