Abstract

In this study, it has been shown the sound and meaning changes of teyeŋ "squirrel" in the Turkic languages and Turkey Turkish dialects, the extensions of teyeŋ "squirrel" and its synonyms Turkey Turkish dialects from Orkhon inscriptions to present. In this study it was pointed out that above mentioned word had been reached out to present outside diacronically underwent some phonologic changes and be seen in many Turkic languages such as lived in Turkey Turkish dialects. The word does not exist in standart Turkey Turkish. Additionally the other words like teyeŋ that would mean "squirrel" in Turkey Turkish dialects was dwelt on
