Abstract

For the foreigners that learn Turkish, it is observed that writing is more compellingthan speaking ability in the text production. Text value of the written materials of thestudents is related to certain criteria. These criteria are, homogeneity, coherence,intentionality and acceptability, informative, contingency and intertextuality. While thecoherence and consistency of the listed criteria are related to the text level, the othersare based on readers. In this context, textual criteria also touch on the communicationwhich is the basic function of a text. In order to fulfill the communication functionsof a text, it is prerequisite that to be coherent and consistent within their. These twobasic facts are very important in the written texts which are created by students. Eachcoherent structure don't demonstrate the consistency of the feature, because of thatthose can't be considered as text. Consistency can be explained as the main fact whichconfers the text feature to the structure. Knowing the features of the consistency of thewritten texts which are written by foreigners who learn Turkish is important becauseof providing a communication unit in the detection of skill levels to produce writtentexts and giving the necessary support to students who are behind in terms of level.In this context, the purpose of the study is providing the students consistency from thebeginning of the criteria to be treated as text in the composition of a structure is todetermine to how they extent that attention. Working group of the research is composedof Polish students. The collection of data was used to examine the possibilities ofqualitative research and weaving method is used. The collected data were analyzedby the content analysis. By the texts which were produced by students there have beenseveral suggestions in the context of what to do about consistency.
