Abstract

Suleyman-name was written by Firdevsi in the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. Firdevsi also known as Uzun Firdevsi, Firdevsi-i Rumi, Firdevsi-i Tavil, Türk Firdevsi wrote and translated many works in verse, prose and verse-prose mixed. Suleyman-name, in which Hazret-i Suleyman stories are told, is Firdevsi's most voluminous work with 81 volumes. Suleyman-name is a very important work in terms of the history of Turkish language because of its linguistic features and vocabulary. In this study, which was carried out to contribute to the rich vocabulary of Turkish, 37 words in the 77th volume of Firdevsi's Suleyman-name, not present in the Tarama Sözlüğü, were examined. Some of these words are included in the Tarama Sözlüğü, but differ in terms of meaning.
