Abstract

Inter-linear translations have an important place in the history of Turkish. Spreading on a wide geography throughout history, Turkish has been associated with many languages and cultures in various dimensions. Persian is the leading one of these languages. In this paper, the original Persian work named as Taŋsuḳnāme-i Ilḫanī will be introduced. Taŋsuḳnāme-i Ilḫanī is an interlinear translation of the Persian work to Khorezmian Turkic Language and it was written by Naser al-Din Tûsî and this work is about mines and some herbal remedies. The work is found in the Oriental Languages Collection of Egypt alAzhar Sheikhdom Manuscript Library. Until now, this work, existence of which is unknown among Turkology researches, has been found as the result of our researches that we have done. We think that the work belongs to the Khorezmian Turkic period in terms of its language characteristics will be introduced to the world of science and thus takes its place in the history of Turkish language history. It is expected to make up one of the smaller pieces for language research in the future, which will take its place among the linguistic relics of the Khorezmian period, which is now limited in number.
