Abstract

This work deals with differences in temporal systems of the Turkish andthe Russian languages with the accent on translation difficulties caused bysemantic diversity in these systems. The author focuses on structural andsemantic peculiarities of Turkish and Russian tenses and presents trainingexamples which throw light to semantic differences between two systems andcan to a certain extent prevent Russian students from making translation mistakes.The analysis of these examples gave base to some general conclusions.
