An Analytical Evaluation of Turkish-Macedonian, Macedonian-Turkish Dictionaries

Abstract

The aim of this study, which presents a critical perspective on the Turkish andMacedonian dictionaries, is to document the extent of progress of lexicography workon the two languages. The study pursues the answer to the question of what the nextsteps are to further develop this area.In the introduction section of this comparative study, the objectives, scope,methods and ethics of the study are outlined. Then, an informational and analyticalanalysis is conducted. In the informational analysis, factual information about thephysical properties of Turkish-Macedonian and Macedonian-Turkish dictionaries isprovided. In the analytical analysis, examples and the advantages and disadvantagesof dictionaries are provided. Finally, the expectations of the general user in socialmedia are researched. The "about the dictionary" section includes the researcher'scomments on the concept of dictionary. In the appendix after the references, theforeword of a sample dictionary is provided as evidence.
