Abstract

The information which is given in dictionaries until today about etymon of theword 'sularında' which takes part in the Turkish language's word existences, is evaluatedthrough the scientific sources again and is fixed that it stereotyped its structureof Turkish su (<Tr.) +lar (plural suffix) +ı (possessive suffix) +n (pronominal n) +da(locative case maker).The structure is bounded the word of Persian su 'environment, side' in same of thedictionaries which has Turkish explanation and the dictionaries which is the foreign,and has two languages by starting with dictionaries of Ottoman Turkish until today.In the same of the historical dictionaries, the word in Turkish su is given as interiorcomponent under the entry begginning the consequent of the diachronic tion which we made, we determined that the word su was used in the meaning of 'time,age, season' as singular in the source of Old Anatolian Turkish.The word 'sularında' was defined in the entry beginning as Persian+Turkish (sularındaPer. sū +T.) in the Turkish Dictionary which was pressed in 1988 by TDK.However, the etymon of the word was corrected in the Turkish Dictionary which waspressed in 2005 by TDK.
