Abstract

1In this paper, the verbs derived from the nouns with the suffix +lA-mAk have been analyzed in terms of both semantics and syntax. First, the verbs derived from the nouns with the suffix +lA- (almost 1000 verbs) from the dictionaries in the bibliography have been listed and examined. By taking account Gerhard Helbig's studies on the valency theory of the verbs, it has been analyzed that if there is a connection between the case condition of the object or objects necessary for making a true sentence and the meaning of the basic nouns forming the base of the verbs. Verbs have been listed in an alphabetical index by mentioning the case condition of the necessary object or objects. It has been determined that some basic nouns are not used in modern Turkish. In this case, the etimology of the basic nouns have also been analyzed
